Well the Top 12 have been halved on American Idol and the end is near. But are we any closer to knowing who will be crowned the Season 7 Idol?
I know who tops my list, but the voters seem to have their favorites. And for me the two do not agree.
My pick to win is David Cook. I think he’s leaps and bounds above the others not only in talent, but stage presence, song choice and arrangements. He’s the whole package.
But it’s the other David that I see walking away with the victory. Archuleta is a not only a favorite of the judges, but of apparently every teen girl out there. Even forgetting words to a song couldn’t land the younger David in jeopardy, proving that when you are a favorite all your sins are more easily forgiven.
But I ask you: Who do you think should be the next American Idol? And then who do you think will actually get to take home the title? Don’t forget to explain your choices.

I think David Archuleta will win. , but I don’t think it will be. I know the judges love David Cook and yes, he has come up with some original and different sounding songs, but to be honest, this week he was flat for most of the song and only went in key the last 30 seconds. However, the judges were not going to bring him down when his sick brother was in the audience, but I do not believe it was nearly as good as they made out. The week before he was also not good.
Mel, well it sounds like maybe the two David’s will duke it out for the title.
I pick David COok to win.. he’s got it all and already seems like a pro. David A. is cute and talented but doesn’t seem ready for stardom in the way David Cook does..

OMG….no, David Archuleta definately has the talent side of American Idol. And the looks, too. I have to disagree with you on David Cook. While he may have a respectable amount of talent, it is overshadowed by his cocky attitude and his arrogantness. It is to the point that I can’t even stand to watch him sing, the way he leans all over the microphone makes me sick…I mean get over yourself. He needs to borrow some of David Archuleta’s humbleness. And get a new hair style…bum is not an in look. I think David Archuleta will take all…Lovin D.A.
Stafani, I’ll agree with you that Cook needs a new hair cut. His current one drives me crazy. But I don’t find his arrogant, I find him confident. And I think Archuleta could use a bit more confidence. But since he’s only 17, I’m sure that will come with time.
This is definitely a hard one. I think it will be a David vs. David finale. I am a huge David Archuleta fan although I also see the talent that David Cook has. So yes I think that David A. Should win and I think he will = D
Metafolic, it’ll be interesting to see how it all unfolds over the next few weeks.
Far as Kelly and Kristy….Kristy doesn’t strike me as a true country singer. She doesn’t strike me as country anything actually. The judges looked at her, heard her weak voice and said ‘hey, she could sing country’ and maybe last a few extra weeks on the show if she did. Kelly, annoying as she was, was genuinely country from the start.

David Cook is the one who should win. He has the presence and confidence of an Idol. David Archuletta does not have the confidence, looks like he is afraid of his own shadow; does not even answer questions as an Idol should; he’s been picking “safe” slow songs most of the time and has not taken any big risks. He’s just playing it safe.
Yes he has a nice voice, but so did Carly. David Cook is the whole American Idol package. He’s taken risks and deserves to be awarded the American Idol title.
IdolFan, I would really like to see Cook win, but I think he has a promising career ahead either way.

david A deserves to win!! he’s been in the soptlight as the one to been since forever and its pretty hard to outdo urself evey week. David cook has just been screeching his way to this newfound popularity! he’s the one who sounds the same every week!
