Harry Potter and the Deathly HallowsAre you or your children huge Harry Potter fans?  Have you already seen Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix a half dozen times?  Are you counting down the days until the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows?  Well, here are a few fun activities you and/or your children can fill the minutes until the release of the latest novel.

Find Your Midnight Party — Use Scholastic’s Midnight Party Finder to find the nearest Midnight Party for you to join in on the Potter Mania on July 21.  Don’t forget to reserve your book ahead of time to ensure you get your copy.

Harry Potter IQ — Test your knowledge of the Harry Potter franchise with this USA Today quiz.

Harry Potter Character Quiz — Take this Family Fun quiz to find out which Harry Potter Character you are most like.

Write Your Own EndingUSA Today gives readers a chance to write their own ending to the Harry Potter saga.  Give it a shot and see how close you come to Rowling’s vision of the final Harry Potter book.

Howlers — Send a Howler to your friends (or foes).  The Bloomsbury site also offers Owlers for when you want to be nice.

Wizard Crafts — Check out Family Fun‘s High Flying Wizard Fun to learn to make your own Chocolate Frogs (no wizard card included).  Or make your own wand.  You don’t even need a phoenix feather.

Pronunciation Guide — Learn how to properly pronounce Harry Potter terminology with Scholastic’s pronunciation guide.

Harry’s Spellbook — Brush up on your spells with kidsreads.com.

    We already have books reserved and have plans on going to the Midnight party at the Barnes and Noble in Charlottesville Va. There is suppose to be characters, prizes etc and loads of fun. Sounds interesting.
    Hope to see you all magicaly there.
